| INDUSTRIAL & COMMERCIAL GOLF LEAGUE |
| Hi to all,
I hope everyone enjoyed the heat at Umkomaas; it had to be one of the hottest most humid days we have had for a while. On days like that I can't understand why clubs don't send out a golf cart loaded with cool drinks and of course not forgetting Charles Glass. There is very little or no watering holes on the course and I think if all the clubs got their act together, apart from providing a service they would certainly make a profit on the day. The course was in good condition considering we haven't had much rain and if the rain continues to stay away the clubs are going to suffer.
What a great turnout we had for prize giving, thanks must go to Grindrod for checking the cards, giving out two club prizes and preparing the results sheet for the captain and also to each team for handing in their cards in good time. It makes prize giving fun when so many stay behind, let's keep it up.
- Congratulations to Peter Lewin winning the best individual prize on a count out with a score of 39, bad luck goes to Paul Pratt also on 39 points. I played with Paul and as we approached the 18th we agreed he needed just one point and he would have a real chance of winning, unfortunately the railway lines claimed his ball.
- Congratulations to Compeng Manufacturing winning the team prize with 136 points. In second place was Bradcor Armature Winders (you just cannot keep Neville and his team out of the prizes) on 123 points and in third place, MSC with 130 points.
- Picking up a nice bottle of red wine for nearest the pin were,
- John Watkins on the fourth
- Brett Randall on the ninth
- Tyrone Rudolph on the thirteenth
- Derek Airey on the seventeenth
- It pays to stay; well done to Heartland for picking up the team attendance prize.
Thanks again to all our sponsors:
- The Individual prize – MSC
- Team prize - Grindrod
- Two Clubs – Bradcor Armature Winders
- Nearest the Pin – Grindrod Bank
- Customised score cards – MSC Printing
Reminder - Score Cards
To assist the scorers can all team captains ensure that all score cards are completed in full. All team members must please write their full names and surnames on the score cards. The lowest scorer of the four ball to bring the completed fully signed scorecards (with ten bucks) to the scorers table before showering!!
NB Don't forget, if anyone gets a two club to please mark it on the card. The cards are customised to the course we are playing at the time and at the top of the card the par threes are indicated in a box, just tick the relevant box, it makes it much easier for the scorers and also helps us to track the number of two clubs in a season.
